Culture is complicated. Not only are there many different types of cultures in Australia, but each person is different based on their background and life experience.
Visit Cultural Atlas, Australian culture and select the links to read about areas such as Greetings, Family and Do’s and Don’ts.
Reflect on the following questions:
- Have you ever been unsure what the right greeting is to use with someone you have not met before?
- How would you describe your family structure? Are there any differences between your family and Cultural Atlas's description of the ‘Australian’ family?
- Is any of their advice on their website unfamiliar to you?
